Like 'Damn, I shouldnt have said that aloud... stupid me...'
or 'Why didnt I do that? so dumb... should have done that when I had the
chance, now its too late'
or even when something is not your fault but you are pissed off
anyway?
well how often do we take that opportunity as it comes by?
is this a 'no regret' philosophy or is it a kind of rushed mind set of doing everything first, thinking later?
how much of a rushed person are you?
how much time do you think about something before doing it? how complicated is your thinking process?
what things do you value? how do you take these things into consideration before implementing your decision?
and ofcoz there are many slogans and sayings that surround us today such as
Just do it.
Havent got all day.
Life is too short to ... (forgot the actual quote)
BUT: it can refer to numerous things...
Life is too short to listen to bad music
Life is too short to ice cakes. Cakes are good without icing.
Life is too short to let a day pass without hugging your spouse and each of your children.
Life is too short to have anything but delusional notions about yourself. (?!?!?!)
Life is too short to eat bad food.
Life is too short to read bad books.
Life's Too Short to Fret.
Life is too short to waste time hating people.
Life is too short to be pissed off.
Life is too short.
but, let me ask you how often when we take that opportunity, ended up regretting it? how would this theory work?
Thinking about it, this is kinda like a circular argument. It can be answered by the quotation 'Life is too short to dwell on your past errors.'
Everybody makes mistakes, and in a way, you are only stupid if you dont learn from your mistakes.
Live life.
Carpe Diem.
Seize the day.
Be brave.
Dont be afraid.

Aside: This is my side track thoughts after lots of boring legal ethics reading... ><
We only get to live once, but live every moment as if it were our second chance......
ReplyDeleteFor the sake of argument...
ReplyDeleteIf we were to live each moment as our second chance, we would be treasuring what we do more. But, would we still do things based on 'seizing the moment or opportunity' as it comes? or would we be too reserved and scared to take that chance?
